The appellate division is dedicated to fulfilling the mission of the Office of the District Attorney of the Third Judicial District.
Each assistant in the Appellate Division strives to serve the office in protecting criminal convictions as well as shaping the law through sound legal advice, high-quality appeals, responses to post-conviction relief applications and federal habeas corpus writs, as well as arguments and evidentiary hearings.
A defendant has a right to appeal his/her conviction in all felony convictions and to request an appeal (writ) in misdemeanor convictions.
