In addition to prosecution and prevention, the Third Judicial District Attorney's Office acts as general counsel on civil legal matters for the Lincoln and Union Parish Police Juries (the parish governing authorities), the Lincoln Parish School Board and provides legal representation for the Reeves Memorial Medical Center in Bernice and other public bodies in Lincoln and Union Parishes.
Our office's Civil Division handles litigation involving these public bodies and advises these public bodies on issues involving state law, especially those provisions applicable to governmental bodies.
